A 7-year-old boy has made a full recovery thanks to his mother, police officers and firefighters who revived him after he went into sudden cardiac arrest in Mundelein.
The Mundelein Police Department and Mundelein Fire Department received a 911 call on May 8 for a child who was unconscious and CPR was in progress.
The patient, Teddy, a 7-year-old boy, had an undiagnosed congenital heart condition that caused sudden cardiac arrest, the Mundelein Fire Department said.
Teddy’s mother, Lilly, was with Teddy at the time of the event and immediately began CPR while Teddy’s father, Robert, called 911.

Mundelein patrol officers Kurt Stadler and Brian McCourt and sergeants Steven Kroll and Chris Brigano arrived on the scene first.
The officers applied an automated external defibrillator to Teddy’s chest and delivered one shock.
Mundelein Fire Department firefighter-paramedics arrived on the scene within two minutes.
