Connected By Hearts

Two Hearts Are Better Than One

Connected By Hearts (CBH), an initiative of Parent Heart Watch, was founded in 2011 by a group of young people who had each been through their own heart-related illness and wanted to share these similar experiences. The CBH mission is to provide support, networking and education to young survivors of sudden cardiac arrest and those living with heart-related conditions.
Youth come to CBH from different places. Some have experienced a sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), while others were diagnosed with heart issues prior to having an event. Some still don’t have a specific diagnosis. Several are living with an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) or pacemaker.

Whatever their story, they share some commonalities. Their lives can be challenging but they can gather strength and compassion from each other.

Whether it’s the youth, themselves, or friend or sibling who has been affected, Connected By Hearts provides a forum to connect with people who can understand their personal situation, and to find resources to support them as they navigate this heart journey.

Discord is a free voice, video, and text chat app that’s used to talk and hang out with special interest communities. On the Connected By Hearts server you can share your story; ask questions; chat and connect with people who understand your situation; and see updates about medical and legal advances related to SCA.
