Cause of death determined for Stevens High School football player who collapsed at practice

A 16-year-old student-athlete who collapsed during football practice died from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a leading cause of sudden cardiac death in young athletes, according to the medical examiner. He had no known health conditions aside from childhood asthma, which his family said he had outgrown, and had experienced flu-like symptoms in the days prior to his collapse.  Read more…
