A 13-year-old North Carolina baseball player is recovering after suffering sudden cardiac arrest during a game in Charlotte. According to reports, an off-duty Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer immediately began CPR and called for an AED after the teen collapsed while rounding second base — but there was not an AED at the field. Fortunately, nearby paramedics arrived and used an AED to restore his heartbeat.
