
Dan was born with a ventricular septal defect and battled endocarditis twice in elementary school, leading to open-heart surgery at age 9. Despite these challenges, he pursued an impressive career as an electrical and computer engineer, working for a defense contractor to provide vital U.S. technology.
Dan was just months away from completing his MBA at the University of California, San Diego, when he tragically passed away from sudden cardiac arrest at age 33, just 20 minutes after finishing a workout. His autopsy revealed dilated cardiomyopathy and mild coronary artery disease.
