Gavin Fournier, a 13-year-old student-athlete at La Quinta Middle, will be remembered as “an amazing brother and son” and for his “heart of gold.” A meal train has been launched to support his family.
The community is coming together to support the family of an eighth grade student at La Quinta Middle School who died on Monday following a medical emergency.
The Fournier family, in a statement shared by Desert Sands Unified School District, described 13-year-old Gavin Fournier as having a “heart of gold,” being kind and a friend to many.
A student-athlete, Gavin played football and baseball while maintaining a 4.0 GPA on the honor roll. His family described him as an “amazing brother and son.”
In response to his family’s needs after this sudden death, a meal train has been set up to deliver meals — either homemade or from restaurants — to their home in La Quinta. Community members may visit mealtrain.com/wm5om0 for more details on how “to support Gavin’s mother, Veronica, and his brother, Garrett, during this unimaginable time,” as the statement says.
“He is loved by so many in our community,” the Fournier family said in their statement.
