1 in 300 youth has an undetected heart condition that can lead to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA). Yet routine well-child exams and sports physicals don’t screen for these conditions—and research shows they miss up to 90% of those at risk.
Families can request diagnostic testing, such as an ECG, as part of a comprehensive cardiac risk assessment. And thanks to parents who have lost or nearly lost a child to SCA, there is a growing national movement to make early detection a standard part of youth healthcare.
