Sarah Friend


Sarah was walking up the stairs at a local waterpark on July 14, 2004, She collapsed climbing the stairs of a water coaster, and was not resuscitated. Sarah was 12 years old, three weeks short of her 13th birthday. The cause of her untimely death: undetected Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM). Sarah was in excellent health and never had any symptoms or warning. Other family members have since been tested and found to have heart defects.
